About
KCC was formed in 1937 as the works chess club of IMI Metals based in Witton, Birmingham. It takes it's name from a former owner of the original business (Pursall & Phillips Ltd) Mr George Kynoch, who had bought the business in 1863. In 1886 George became Member of Parliament for Aston Manor & the following year was appointed president of a local small football club which went by the name of Aston Villa. Games were originally played in the Witton works canteen, several moves later, games are now played at The Old Oscott Sports & Social Club in Great Barr.
